Frequently Asked Questions
What types of Jupyter Notebooks can I view?
Our viewer supports all standard Jupyter Notebook (.ipynb) files, regardless of the kernel they were created with. This includes notebooks created with Python, R, Julia, and other programming languages. The viewer renders markdown, code cells, outputs, and embedded visualizations.
Is there a file size limit for notebooks?
Yes, there is a 10MB file size limit for notebooks. This is sufficient for most notebooks, including those with embedded images and visualizations. If your notebook exceeds this limit, consider splitting it into smaller notebooks or removing large outputs before uploading.
Are my notebooks stored on your servers?
No, your notebooks are processed entirely in your browser and are not stored on our servers. When you share a notebook, we create a temporary link that expires after 7 days. The notebook content is encrypted and stored securely during this period, after which it is automatically deleted.
Can I execute code in the notebook viewer?
No, our viewer is designed for viewing notebooks only, not for executing code. It displays the notebook content, including code cells and their outputs, but does not provide an execution environment. If you need to run the code, you'll need to download the notebook and open it in Jupyter or another compatible environment.
How do I share a notebook with others?
After uploading your notebook, you'll receive a unique sharing link that you can copy and send to others. Anyone with this link can view your notebook without needing to install any software. The link is valid for 7 days, after which it will expire for security reasons.
Does the viewer support interactive widgets?
The viewer displays the static state of interactive widgets as they were when the notebook was saved, but does not support interactive functionality. Elements like Plotly graphs, ipywidgets, and other interactive components will be rendered as static images or representations.
